wäre mein Leben ganz anders gewesen.
Eure Songs haben mich zu meinen ersten Gedichten inspiriert.
Ohne dich gebe es die 28 Kurzgeschichten,
die 132 Gedichte, den einen philosophischen Text und den Roman nicht.
Nicht alles davon ist gut, aber was ich erreicht habe, habe ich auch dank euch erreicht.

Never in my life have I experienced characters as real as the ones in Monster. 

I’ve loved characters and cried for characters, but never thought they were real.

I’ve wished characters were real, but never have I thought that a character was so well-written and complex and human, that they could actually be a living human being.

Every character in Monster is this real.

Not just the heroes, or the villains, but everyone. Even all the side characters who only show up in one episode (and there are a lot of them).

Monster is a lot of things. It’s complex, intelligent, and thought-provoking. But because I want to keep my reviews spoiler-free, I won’t touch too much on those things. I went into the show knowing literally nothing about it besides its name and that it’s supposedly a masterpiece, and I’d rather others do it the same way.

Because of that, I really can’t tell you the story at all, since it takes several episodes and reveals for the story to begin.

It’s pretty long (74 episodes), which is why I took to long to watch it despite it’s high praise, but it’s well worth it.

However, UNLIKE many other anime which I love, I would not recommend this anime to everyone. I wouldn’t call it a “fun” anime. There’s action, but it’s not the kind that people watch action movies for. And if you’re not the kind of person who empathizes with characters, and understands their motives, I foresee you getting frustrated with this show, and you probably won’t enjoy it too much.

Ich arbeite jetzt schon eine Weile an der zweiten Fassung meines Romans „Die Zigarren des Anarchisten“. Vor ein paar Tagen, habe ich mich noch einmal hingesetzt und angefangen, das Papierchaos an Notizen und Korrekturen zur ersten Fassung, durchzuarbeiten und habe begonnen, eine (meinen Ansprüchen nach) zumutbare zweite Fassung, Kapitel für Kapitel, zu tippen.
Bei dieser „Beta“-Version bin ich noch relativ am Anfang, aber das Tempo mit dem ich voran komme stimmt mich zuversichtlich. 
Da es sich nur um einen kurzen Roman handelt und ich nicht versuche, „Auf der Suche nach der verlorenen Zeit“ neu zu erfinden (ein ironisch passender Titel, für einen Roman mit fast 10000 Seiten!),
werde ich wahrscheinlich in spätestens zehn Jahren mit der Arbeit an der dritten Fassung beginnen.
